As the days of triple digits are winding down most of us are highly anticipating the cooler weather and we look forward to welcoming fall. Fall in Southern Nevada is a beautiful season with less wind and comfortable temperatures. We have put this blog together to share with you some of the wonderful Fall events and activities you can enjoy this season in Henderson.
When the weather is nice there is nothing like enjoying a day at the Farmer’s Market. Every Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm the Henderson Farmer’s Market is open at the Henderson Events Plaza at 200 Water Street. (weather permitting) Enjoy shopping for market fresh vegetables, baked goods, garden fresh salsas, jams, and a variety of crafts and other unique items. Through November 19th you can also find a Farmer’s Market at the District at Green Valley Ranch. This market is open Thursdays from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and has a great variety of goodies available.

The Water Street District is host to the Super Run Car Show which is held September 23th through September 25th from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Super Run features all types of classic and vintage vehicles including trucks, motorcycles, hot rods, muscle cars, competition cars and customs. There are contests, competitions, vendors, food, drink and entertainment. Admission is free of charge and there is complimentary parking as well as a shuttle service. This is a great event and we highly recommend spending some time down there enjoying the cars and the weather.
One of the best Fall Events near Henderson is Art in the Park. Boulder City will host the 54th annual Art in the Park on October 1st and October 2nd from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Art in the Park is one of the largest outdoor art festivals in the Southwest and is the largest fundraiser for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation. The event is free to the public and draws over 100,000 visitors. 300+ juried Fine Art, Fine Craft & Traditional Craft artists will be selling and exhibiting original artwork. There are also live demonstrations, live music, activities for children and raffle giveaways. Parking can be tricky, we suggest the paid parking with a free shuttle service.

The 5K Zombie Run takes place on October 22nd from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Pkwy. The living dead and everything ghoulish invades Henderson for another fright. Try and survive the apocalypse by using your brains (pun intended) and disguises to outsmart hungry zombies along the 3.1-mile trail. All fitness levels are welcome. Ages 5 and up. The Las Vegas Sangria Festival takes place on October 22nd from 12:00pm to 10:00pm at the Henderson Convention Center and Amphitheater. Galleria Mall Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch. Visit the Galleria Mall from Saturday, October 8 – 31 from Mon-Fri: 4pm-10pm, Sat & Sun: 11am-10pm. Come on down and celebrate Halloween with rides, games and entertainment for the whole family. With the biggest and best selection of pumpkins and activities, Halloween Town Pumpkin Patches are sure to make the whole family smile. Free pumpkin with the purchase of an all-day ride pass!
There are many safe alternatives to trick or treating in Henderson. The recreational centers offer kids events as well as the major malls and shopping centers. There are numerous pumpkin patches set up around the city which offer pumpkins, kid’s rides, refreshments and snacks.
Haunted Harvest: This family-friendly event at Springs Preserve features a haunted maze, trick or treat stations, carnival games, live entertainment and much more. It runs Oct. 14 – 16, 21 – 23 and Oct. 28 – 30 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Admission is $8. Children age 2 and under get in for free. For an additional $3 for members and $5 for non-members, guests can take a “haunted” train ride.

HallOVeen: Opportunity Village’s 3rd annual HallOVeen will turn the Magical Forest into a spooky land of goblins and ghosts. This child friendly event will feature rides and attractions including The Haunted Adventure by Santino and Rocco Panaro, a spooktacular Forest Express Ghost Train, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel and Boris the Elf’s 3D Experience. Guests will enjoy nightly parades, crafts, spooky movies, story telling, “Scary-oke”, the Candy Cabin and special entertainment in the Haunted Castle Courtyard. Each night will feature a different theme with nightly costume contests and prizes awarded to winners.HallOVeen debuts October 14 and will be open nightly throughout the month of October. During the last week of the month, HallOVeen will feature a “Day of the Dead” theme for the final evening. HallOveen hours are 5:30 – 10 p.m. nightly. General admission pricing is $11.99 for adults and $9.99 for children. Opportunity Village is located at 6300 W. Oakey Blvd.
Fright Dome: See one of the scariest haunted house attractions in the nation at Circus Circus’ Adventuredome. The 5-acre theme park is transformed into six haunted houses and four scare zones including Insanitarium, The Dollhouse, the Slaughterhouse and Killer Clowns in 4-D. All of the theme park’s rides are included and ridden in the dark. Fright Dome runs Oct. 1 – 31 from 7 p.m. – midnight. Tickets are $36.95 – $99.95.
